Regina T. SihClinical Pharmacy,
Doctor of Pharmacy

Regina T. Sih is a clinical pharmacist who truly enjoys educating people in order to promote good health. She grew up in Orange County, California, where she discovered a passion for the biological sciences at El Toro High School. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology at California State University Fullerton, earning High Honors.

Dr. Sih became attracted to the prospect of using her scientific knowledge to care for people through the field of pharmacy and completed her Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree at the University of California, San Francisco in 1999 and trained for an additional year in a General Pharmacy Practice Residency at University of Nebraska Medical Center-Nebraska Health Systems (NHS). After residency, she worked at NHS Hospital for one year as a Drug Information and Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant Clinical Pharmacist. Dr. Sih had a fantastic two years in the Midwest and she even learned how to drive in the snow.

Getting back to warmer weather and family, she relocated to Fresno, California where she worked at Children’s Hospital of Central California and was offered the opportunity to build a new pharmacist-run clinic in Adult Medicine as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist. She developed the clinic to see patients for medication review and disease management, eventually partnering with a Case Management team, consisting of a registered nurse and licensed clinical social worker. Dr. Sih was the first and only Ambulatory Care Pharmacist Case Manager in Northern California in her HMO. In this unique role, she was able to provide medication and disease management to chronically ill, psychosocially-challenged elderly patients, improving their health and quality of life. In July 2009, Dr. Sih returned to San Francisco. She is currently a Drug Education Coordinator in the East Bay, coaching and teaching physicians, nurse practitioners and pharmacists in evidence-based cost-effective prescribing.

During her free time, Dr. Sih enjoys working out at the gym, playing tennis, learning how to surf, traveling, reading novels, watching movies, and spending quality time with her family, especially her two young nephews.
