Neuropsychological and Psychodiagnostic Assessment

Dr. Chen is a clinical psychologist specializing in psychological assessment. She earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at California School of Professional Psychology. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Northern California Neuropsychological Forum, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and the Asian American Mental Health Association.

Dr. Chen was inspired to go into psychology at an early age, when she observed the impact of developmental issues and saw a general need for better mental health education and treatment. In her clinical experience, she has witnessed the power of hope, compassion, and self-knowledge to facilitate behavioral changes and lead to healthier lifestyles.

Neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic assessments help her understand a patient’s underlying areas of strength and vulnerabilities She enjoys consulting with a holistic team of caregivers to measure real or perceived barriers to standard human performance. Real barriers might include limitations resulting from stroke, a head injury, general medical conditions, psychiatric issues, ADD/ADHD, and learning disabilities. Through in-depth clinical interviewing and testing, she is able to assess and analyze individual performances. She then works with caregivers to provide customized treatment recommendations and psychological interventions.

In her free time, she enjoys laughing and cooking with her husband and toddler son. She is also happiest while spending time outdoors with her Labrador retriever and later curling up in bed with a good book.
