Happy New Year. Perhaps some of you are well into your New year’s resolutions or maybe just beginning. Here’s a tip to set yourself up for success. First, pick a reasonable goal. You might even start off with something that sounds ridiculously easy. That way you’ll be sure to be consistent. For instance, if you’re trying to lose weight you might decide to make sure you drink a glass of water before you eat or make sure you have either a fruit, vegetable, or both with each meal. If you’re starting to exercise you might do a 30 minute walk one to two times per week or take 15-20 minutes out of your lunch to walk 3 days per week. The key is to not bite off more than you can chew, pardon the pun. By doing something simple it’ll be easier to incorporate the new habit into your regular routine and subsequent changes may not be as difficult.
