The cherimoya is a fruit that originated in the Andean region of South America around Peru and Chile but is now grown around the world, including here in California. It’s flavor has been described as a mixture of banana, pineapple and strawberry and so it is sometimes referred to as a “custard apple.” It’s another fruit that is a great source of vitamin C and fiber so try a cherimoya today.
